Ms. Sonali Kaushik MBBS, DGO, MRCOG, MD (Research)
Ms. Sonali Kaushik is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Gynae-oncology Surgeon based in Brighton & Hove. She practises at the Nuffield Health Brighton Hospital and The Montefiore Hospital in Hove. As well as her private clinical work, Ms. Kaushik provides her services for The Brighton & Sussex Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Her main area of expertise is in diagnosis and management of conditions of the female genital tract, including benign disease, pre-cancer and cancer. She is proficient in both conventional and laparoscopic (key hole) surgery. She is on the GMC specialist register and recognises all major insurers.
Qualifications
Ms. Kaushik qualified as a doctor in 1997. She obtained her postgraduate training in London and the South East of England, including St. George's Hospital and The East Kent Gynaecological Cancer Centre. She obtained her formal sub-specialist training in Gynaecological Oncology at Cheltenham General Hospital and was appointed as a Consultant at Brighton & Sussex University Hospital in 2013.
Ms. Kaushik holds dual certification awarded by the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (RCOG) as a specialist in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and sub-specialist in Gynaecological Oncology. She is one of the 150 other specialists in the UK, who are formally accredited by the RCOG to undertake complex gynaecological cancer surgery. In addition, she is an accredited Colposcopist, a specialist who investigates abnormal cervical smears and manages pre-cancer changes.
Research
Ms. Kaushik was awarded a Doctorate in Medicine, MD (Research) by the Bristol University in 2018. In 2013, she received the National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) Prize for her research on the analysis of quality of care received by women with gynaecological cancer. In addition to numerous national & international presentations, she has authored several research papers in peer reviewed journals.
